Celebrate & Indulge for Her: Four Perfumes for the Occasion

Some nights are meant to be noticed. The notes that do it, and four bold perfumes for her, from the trail everyone recognises to champagne on the terrace.
A celebration perfume has the opposite brief to a work one. It should arrive before you do, leave a trail across the room, and still be there at the end of the night. This is the time to be noticed.
That is why the occasion belongs to the richest notes: saffron, oud, vanilla, frankincense. Celebrate & Indulge is one of our seven mood collections, scents chosen for how you want to feel; this one is for the moments you want to remember. Here are the notes that do it, and four bold perfumes for her that wear them best.
The key notes
Saffron
Warm, spicy, lightly fruity. Gilding, at full size.
Oud
Majestic, dark, commanding, leathery: the resin a wounded Aquilaria tree makes, here from Vietnam. One drop is a statement.
Vanilla
The sweet anchor of every gourmand. At volume, it turns a floral into dessert.
Frankincense
Resinous, balsamic, smoky, with pine-like and lemony facets. Set against rose or oud, it is a cathedral.
Four for the occasion
All four are in our Celebrate & Indulge collection, and each wears differently: what leads, what stays on skin, and when to reach for it.
1. Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540
Leads: Saffron and jasmine over amberwood and ambergris, with the sugared fir-resin trail everyone recognises.
On skin: Sharp, sweet and airy from the first minute; the amber-fir glow sits in the air around you for eight hours or more.
Wear it: For the night you want to be noticed from across the room. Colder is better.
2. Amouage Jubilation 25 Woman
Leads: Rose and davana, boozy, fruity and mellow, into labdanum, frankincense and myrrh, with tarragon above.
On skin: Bright and herbal for half an hour, then a deep, resinous rose-incense chypre that lasts ten hours.
Wear it: A gala, an anniversary, the dress you bought for it. Autumn and winter.
3. Maison Francis Kurkdjian Oud Satin Mood
Leads: Rose over a satin-soft oud, with vanilla, benzoin and a touch of violet: rich, smooth, no smoke.
On skin: Velvety rose-oud from the start, sweeter by the second hour; ten hours, projecting for the first three.
Wear it: Opulence without the harshness. Cold evenings, formal rooms.
4. Parfums de Marly Oriana
Leads: Orange blossom and raspberry folded into marshmallow and whipped cream, over a grapefruit-mandarin opening.
On skin: Bright citrus-berry first, then a creamy, fluffy floral gourmand for eight hours, sweet but never heavy.
Wear it: Champagne on the terrace. Spring and summer evenings.

Sampled by the mL
Bold perfumes need room to open, and a blotter does not give them any. The difference between these four shows on skin, two hours into the evening. So test before you commit to a bottle: all four come as samples.
Try one at each celebration. The one people still mention the next day is yours.

Questions we hear
What perfume should I wear to a special occasion?
Something bold and long-lasting, built on amber, resins or oud: Jubilation 25 Woman for a formal evening, Baccarat Rouge 540 to be noticed, Oud Satin Mood for richness without smoke.
Is there a celebration perfume for summer?
Oriana. Its orange blossom, raspberry and whipped cream are sweet but never heavy, so it works on a warm terrace where the others would be too much.
How long do these perfumes last?
All four last a full evening: eight hours or more for Baccarat Rouge 540 and Oriana, about ten for Jubilation 25 Woman and Oud Satin Mood.
